In cleaning out my apt and making out a will,
I had to consider the value of everything I kept in my apt.

In reducing my load, I had to trash things I could not donate or pass along to friends or family.

Dear Friends and Family,

In collaboration with a few other top-notch students of sustainability, today I'm launching a project aimed at creating a better future and I'd love for you to be apart of it!

We call the project 'Changing Tomorrow', and with it we hope to empower thousands of people to take steps towards living in a way that will guarantee all of us a secure and prosperous future. Changing tomorrow IS possible, and how we change tomorrow will be determined by the individual choices that each of us makes today!

The process is very simple:
The first thing to do is to view our video at http://www.youtube.com/user/ChangingTomorrow. It's a brief and uplifting story about how people are taking action today to reduce their carbon emissions and combat global climate change.

Once you've seen the video, you'll be directed to visit our blog http://changingtomorrow.blogspot.com/. There you'll have the opportunity to comment on the video and select among a list of choices of personal actions that YOU will commit to in doing your part to ensure a better future!

After viewing the video and making your contribution to the blog, we hope you'll help us spread the word! In order to affect massive change, we're going to need massive participation, so we hope you'll help us get the word out there!

We're really excited about launching this project to you, our friends and family, and about the potential that this project has for unifying and moving a whole lot of people towards a very important objective. Your feedback on the project, the video, and the blog is very welcomed!

Earth Day Everyday: Get More GREEN

April 22 is officially Earth Day.
April 21- 27 Earth Week.

Pick something you love and do it green!

I heart Prospect Park.

You can support the park through the Prospect Park Alliance.
Any gift amount will help maintain the 585-acre lungs of Brooklyn.
Bigger gifts with dedications are available, as well.

In my new living will, I have requested supporting A Grove of Trees
which helps to restore an entire sector of the Park dedicated to my friends & family.

You can also do something for free.
Request a tree planting from the New York Parks Department.
Give them an address and request a tree. Couldn't be easier.

I am thinking more these days about what will survive me if I were to expire
before I get married or have kids. I want my art and ideas to survive me, but I also want
to do my part to create a more sustainable future. I want to give green.

Check out the Million Trees NYC project. There are many ways to give a little green.

Dear Friends,

I will be cleaning out my house over the next couple weeks.



So far I am looking for a new home for my 6 ft. Werner ladder.
He holds up to 225 lbs, so even the big boys can use my faithful ladder. As I live under a 8 ft. ceiling,
I no longer need my go-go gadget ladder to make me all of 11'1 feet tall.

And a brand new Airport Extreme Card!

Travel Update:

I have set my dates, so I will be leaving town May 7th, driving South. Leaving the country May 16 for the gleaming shores of Hong Kong. Then I will be traveling by train to Beijing.
My departure is just as exciting! I leave from Shanghai, so look forward to some fun photos.

Parting is such sweet sorrow.

Job Hunt Beijing

I am looking for work opportunities in Beijing,
starting sometime in the fall.
Ideally, I would want to work for a New York-based travel magazine.

If you know any editors or photo editors at travel magazines or
people in the documentary film world interested in Beijing,
please pass along my info.

Plan is to focus on art work, but traveling around sounds fun.
It is certainly the best way to learn.



Taking the Temperature/Back in the Dirty South

Don't know how hot Beijing will be post Olympics and what will happen in Tibet and Taiwan between now and then. Its just a very interesting and semi-volatile time. With the economy in the US such that it is and presidential elections, there is no telling what will happen at home either. I have seen so many homes on the market or foreclosed by the bank. The stock market is suffering. We are fighting moral and hopeless battles on fronts I'm not sure we can "win." How have we come to this? Why is Bush sending out incentive checks to people who need longer term solutions not a token that deepens our debt and doesn't offer any real solutions to the problems that got us here in the first place. I'm surrounded by Republicans. I am desperate for a liberal leaning leader who can really tackle our economic crisis and regain our good name in the world. But one who can deal with and acknowledge that they will not see the results of much of their hard work until past their season in office. If they are ok with that and can still forge ahead through the murky waters, then I can stand behind them. Any Democrat will do. The Republican candidate, will take us further down the path that had lead us here.

Please...do your part and vote. And encourage all your friends and family to vote. We can't take for granted that by law, we can elect our leaders, even if history has shown that it is not always by popular vote.
