Subject: Full Buck Moon in Capricorn: Confront Your Insecurities

Dear Su-Jung,
Over the last couple of weeks, we had a couple of very challenging transits as Mars and Mercury travelled through Cancer opposing Pluto in Capricorn. Cancer, a sign that resonates deeply with the theme of safety and security, took me on a deep dive into the concept of confidence. Not your superficial "Do I look good?" version of confidence, but a more in-depth look at where (and how) insecurity shows up in my life.
And, I don't think I am the only one.
Insights poured through me, helping me to see where subtle (but potent) insecurities derail my very best work. As I acknowledged these vulnerabilities, I challenged internalized assumptions about my potential.
As we approach the full moon tonight, the theme of building a deeper sense of security from within magnifies.
The Full Buck Moon in Capricorn, happening on July 9th at 12:06 am ET, is a tricky full moon. With the Sun in Cancer opposing the moon in Capricorn, our need to self-nurture, and nurture those in our lives, falls opposite to the cardinal energy of the get-it-done Capricorn moon. Simultaneously, the moon snuggles up next to Pluto, the planet that showcases our shadow. Don't be surprised if this full moon reveals some secrets—helping you see where insecurity, rather than desire, has you saying yes when you really mean to say no.
Capricorn represents our ambition and drive towards excellence, especially as it relates to business and work.
This full moon packs a punch. And the very next day, the Sun—who represents our identity and vital life force energy—moves into direct opposition with Pluto, too. This hard aspect has us continuing to look under the proverbial hood of our lives to find where we leak our energy and how we can realign and reconfigure to retain more of our vitality.
It's essential to use this full moon to see where insecurity derails your very best effort, then decide to see things differently.
Fortunately, Uranus and Saturn are both in fire signs and continue their dance of support, while Neptune in Pisces trines the Sun in Cancer—an auspicious angle that furthers this cosmic assistance! So, even though we may need to stand up for ourselves, we'll be able to channel our energy positively by staying focused on our spiritual centers. Especially if we constructively look at (and flip the switch on) where we internalize a sense of shame, embarrassment, inferiority, and lack.
You see, this full moon asks us to look at what we need to digest, so we can release what no longer serves us.
Are you ready?
Here are some suggestions for how to make the most of this Full Buck Moon in Capricorn:
- Connect to your shadow. Tune into the side of yourself that you don't readily see. Look at your desires and assess if they are true to you, or are they driven by shame based ambition? Check in with yourself and determine where and how insecurity shows up in your life.
- Spend time meditating on and connecting to the flow of ideas. A moon in driven Capricorn supported by powerhouse Pluto means you're in a great place to get sh*t done.
- Tap into your spiritual side. Even though the moon is in Capricorn, tune into your spiritual side. Neptune is in a positive position to support this!
- Take stock of your structure. Assess the systems, organization, and processes in your life that allow you to do good work. What do you have in place, both internally and externally, that allow you to work on behalf of your most significant goals?
This is incredibly important work to do now. We must identify and honor what we need to release, especially as we enter the waning phase of the lunar cycle (and as we move toward the eclipses in August).
So, tell me: what insecurity is getting the best of you and your best work? Let me know in the comments. And better yet, what's your strategy to overcome it?!
C'mon over to the blog and let me know in the comments. All of my love,
Jenn

Read to me on June 28, 2017 by Hank in Central Park
by Johann W. Von Goethe, translated by Robert Bly
Tell a wise person, or else keep silent,
because the mass man will mock it right away.
I praise what is truly alive,
what longs to be burned to death.
In the calm water of the love-nights,
where you were begotten, where you have begotten,
a strange feeling comes over you,
when you see the silent candle burning.
Now you are no longer caught in the obsession with darkness,
and a desire for higher love-making sweeps you upward.
Distance does not make you falter.
Now, arriving in magic, flying,
and finally, insane for the light,
you are the butterfly and you are gone.
And so long as you haven't experienced this: to die and so to grow,
you are only a troubled guest on the dark earth.
