Dear Steamline:

I purchased the stowaway Editor many years ago and she served me well through many journeys. The case is in pretty good shape, but the strap/buckle has torn making it difficult to use. Please see attached photo below.

It took me ages to find you again and have decided to purchase the Creme Diplomat hoping the leather will stand the test of time! But as I was looking over the website, I see there is a Lifetime Satisfaction Guarantee! Does this mean my Editor can be fixed? Do you sell replacement straps? I would be interested in getting two and giving the case a new life.

It would be a great gift to pass along to my niece if possible!

Thoughts to Meditate Upon

Something I've observed in my recent life in Chinese Medicine, is that for many of us practitioners, we are drawn to and have a desire to help patients that have similar experience or have vulnerabilities that reflect parts if ourselves, our history, that we are continually trying to heal.

For instance, a dear friend who has a special place in her heart for patients who struggle with addiction, has had first hand experience and has an exceptional way with others who struggle to beat their addictions. Fundamentally, as human beings, we all have fears, but coping mechanisms are taught and some of us are not lucky enough to have had positive coping skills modeled and further still some are born with dispositions toward mental instability or depression, which creates a more challenging position.

We are all susceptible to the elements, but in Chinese Medicine, we believe that strengthening your Wei "Protective" Qi helps us to block external influences from entering and finding a home in our bodies. This analogy can be extended to social environment. The stronger we are internally and mentally, the less likely we are to suffer any damage from the everyday stressors or even bigger life events. We feel in the moment, adjust and work through the more difficult things, then let things go. And that is the normal and healthy processing of any experience or illness. Something's leave lasting impressions, like a physical disability or virus that can in weakened states flare up, but overall, like painful emotions, they become part of our history but not our defining characteristic.

Pathology can take many forms and vary in severity. Health is a constant flow a homeostasis within a range of moderation, not a static state. The only static state we will experience is death, and even in death, there is a process of decomposition and returning to the earth, and for some, there is much more beyond death.

Letter to New York

Dear New York,

You know me by now. And I love you. I've been faithful in my heart and always found my way home. I've wandered and discovered new cities and even considered being part time, but in the end, no place defines me the way you do.

So I ask you, why oh why has it been so hard to find a good man. A counterpart to my sweetness and someone to stoke the embers of my fire, as well as, add the needed wood to burn.

Have I done something wrong? Have I been too selfish and been blind? Or has the time not come, yet?

A new chapter is about to start, and I am asking with an open heart and mind...

Is there someone you might think is out there, looking for a new reality, open and humble, worn a bit, like a good book that's been loved. Someone with some lines that mark the time he has spend enjoying the sun and sprinkles of grey he wears with pride. A man who knows who he wants to be and is willing to put in the effort to get there with someone? Am I asking too much?

You are my constant. You define me in ways that reflect what is in my heart and vision of the world. Sure I know you're not perfect, but you are the best. I've been told when one lives here, that they are essentially married to you. You first. But I've seen other versions of the New York story.

What do you say? Gimme a little break next time?
